๐Ÿ”’ Privacy Policy ยท Android

Your documents stay
on your device. Full stop.

Pyrbit PDF for Android is built on a single principle: everything you do to your documents happens locally. The only things that ever leave your device are what Google needs to show ads to free-tier users, to process Google Play purchases and Google sign-in, and โ€” only if you switch them on โ€” anonymous usage statistics. An account is optional.

Documents Are 100% On-Device

Every PDF you open, edit, scan, sign, OCR or convert is processed locally and never uploaded anywhere โ€” to us or to anyone.

๐Ÿ“Š
Analytics Off Unless You Opt In

Anonymous Firebase Analytics stays switched off until you turn it on in Settings โ€” and never includes your documents, file names, or anything you type.

๐Ÿ’ณ
Payments via Google Play

All subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Google Play. We never see or store your payment card.

๐ŸŽฌ
Ads Fund the Free Tier

Free (non-subscriber) users see ads via Google AdMob. Pro subscribers never see an ad, anywhere in the App.

Section 01

Introduction

At Pyrbit, we believe your documents are your business โ€” not ours. Pyrbit PDF was built with a single guiding principle: everything that happens to your documents happens on your device, and they never leave it.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Android app collects, how it is used, how it is stored, and what choices you have โ€” including the parts of the App (ads, purchases, sign-in and optional analytics) that do involve Google as a third party. Please read it carefully. By downloading or using Pyrbit PDF, you agree to the practices described here.

If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use the App.

Section 02

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to:

๐Ÿ“ฑ
Android phones
Pyrbit PDF for Android 8.0 and later, distributed on Google Play (package com.pyrbit.pdfstudio)
Covered
๐Ÿ“ฒ
Android tablets & foldables
The same app, with a tablet layout
Covered
๐Ÿ’ป
Chromebooks
Pyrbit PDF running on ChromeOS through Google Play
Covered

This policy covers every tool in the App, including PDF editing, compression, merging, splitting, conversion (to and from Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HTML, RTF, text and images), OCR, document scanning, digital signing and signature verification (including documents like e-Aadhaar), redaction, and password protection. It does not govern third-party services you interact with outside the App (Google Play, your email client, or apps you share files to). The iPhone, iPad and Mac versions of Pyrbit PDF have their own privacy policy.

Section 03

What We Collect โ€” and What We Don't

โœ…

We DO store locally on your device (never transmitted to us): your optional Google profile (name, email, photo), app settings, drafts and recently opened file details, your daily free-use record, your trusted-certificate list, and subscription status sourced from Google Play.

๐Ÿšซ

We do NOT collect, upload, or transmit: your PDF files or images, their contents or file names, your phone number, your location, or your contacts โ€” to us or to anyone. We do not run servers that hold user accounts or documents.

โ„น๏ธ

Google is the only third party involved: Google AdMob (ads, free tier only), Google Play Billing (purchases), Google sign-in (optional), and Google Firebase Analytics (only if you opt in). None of them ever receives your documents or their contents โ€” see Sections 6, 11 and 19.

โœ๏ธ

Aadhaar Digital Signature verifies documents already digitally signed by an issuing authority (e.g. e-Aadhaar), and lets you sign with a certificate you already have. It does not ask for, collect, or store your Aadhaar number, date of birth, or gender.

Section 04

Information You Provide

a) Google Account (Optional)

You can sign in with Google or continue as a guest. If you sign in, Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with the App. They are kept privately on your device to show your profile โ€” there are no server-side accounts, and we never see your Google password. Every tool works the same as a guest.

b) Digital Signatures โ€” Aadhaar Digital Signature

This tool works two ways, and neither one involves us receiving your identity details:

โœ…
Verify a signed document
Checks a signature already embedded in a document you open โ€” e.g. e-Aadhaar or a similar government/bank PDF โ€” against certificate roots built into the App, entirely on your device.
Local only
โœ’๏ธ
Sign a document yourself
Uses a certificate you already have โ€” a .pfx/.p12 file. Its password is held in memory for that one operation and never saved. The App does not ask for your Aadhaar number, date of birth, or gender.
Local only
โ„น๏ธ

If the certificate you bring was itself issued to you via an Aadhaar-based identity check (by a licensed Certifying Authority, outside this App), whatever identity fields that certificate contains become part of any PDF you sign with it โ€” the same as with any digital signature. The App doesn't add, read, or transmit anything beyond using the certificate to sign.

c) Support Communications

If you tap Send Feedback, your email app opens a pre-filled email to himanshu0rjn@pyrbit.com. Any information you include is received solely to respond to your inquiry and is never used for marketing.

Section 05

AI Features

The Android version of Pyrbit PDF does not include an AI chat assistant and does not use any cloud AI service. The "AI" entry in the editor only shows an information message; nothing you type or open is sent to any AI model, by us or by anyone else.

Features that use machine learning โ€” text recognition (OCR) in English, Hindi and other Latin and Devanagari scripts, and automatic page-edge detection when scanning โ€” run on your device using Google ML Kit. The images and text they read are not uploaded.

โ„น๏ธ

If AI features are added to the Android app in the future, this policy will be updated before they ship, and you will be asked to agree to the new version in the App.

Section 06

Information Collected Automatically

Data Purpose Storage Transmitted?
App preferences & settings Theme, quality defaults, export format, quick actions App-private storage (on-device) Never

Section 07

Information We Do Not Collect

Pyrbit PDF does not collect any of the following, by us or on our behalf:

  • Your documents, images, or anything inside them
  • Phone numbers
  • Physical address or location data (precise or approximate)
  • Contacts, calendar, SMS or call logs
  • Microphone audio โ€” the App does not request the microphone
  • Biometric data of any kind
  • Web browsing history or cookies (the App is not a browser)
  • Your Google password (sign-in uses Google's token-based Credential Manager; we never see it)
  • Device identifiers such as IMEI, serial number or Android ID
  • Crash logs or diagnostics sent to any server we operate

The App does use the camera โ€” only when you scan a paper document into a PDF โ€” and Android's photo and file pickers, which give the App only the items you choose. Everything captured or picked that way is processed on your device and never transmitted.

๐Ÿ“„

App backups are switched off (allowBackup="false"), so the App's private data โ€” settings, drafts, your profile and trusted certificates โ€” is not copied to Google Drive backups. It stays on the device it was created on.

Section 08

Sharing of Information

๐Ÿšซ

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, ever. The sharing below is limited to the specific purposes named.

The data sharing that occurs:

๐Ÿ”
Google Play Billing
When you subscribe or buy, payment is handled by Google Play under Google's Privacy Policy. The App receives only the product, purchase token and status.
๐ŸŽฌ
Google AdMob
Shows and measures ads to free-tier users. Receives the advertising ID, approximate region from your IP address and standard ad-request technical data, under Google's own Privacy Policy.
๐Ÿ‘ค
Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in, Google confirms your account and shares your name, email and photo with the App. Nothing is sent from the App back to us.
๐Ÿ“Š
Google Firebase Analytics (opt-in)
Only if you turn it on: an anonymous installation ID, device model and Android version, and app events such as app opens and screens viewed โ€” never document contents, file names, or anything you type.
๐Ÿ“ง
Support Email
If you email us voluntarily, your message is received in our inbox. We do not share support emails with third parties.
๐Ÿ“ค
Files You Share
When you tap Share or Save As, the file goes to the app or location you pick, under that app's own policy. Entirely under your control.
โš–๏ธ

ServicePurposeData Exposed to Third Party
Google Play Billing Pro subscriptions (weekly, monthly, yearly) and the one-time lifetime purchase Handled by Google Play. Your payment card is never exposed to us.

PDFBox, Tesseract, OpenCV, CameraX, Pyrbit document engine PDF processing, OCR fallback, image processing, camera, conversion and export Nothing โ€” these run entirely on the device and make no network requests.
โ„น๏ธ

Those are the only third-party services in the App, used only for what's named above. None of them ever receives your documents, their contents, or file names. There is no crash-reporting, A/B-testing, attribution or cloud storage SDK of any kind. Google's handling of data is described at policies.google.com/privacy and How Google uses information from apps that use its services.

The App does not keep PDF files or document contents on any server. Uninstalling the App removes everything it stored on your device. Data held by Google (ads, purchases, analytics) is retained under Google's own policies.

Section 14

Data Security

We take reasonable technical precautions to protect the data stored by the App:

  • Everything is stored in the App's private storage, protected by Android's app sandbox and the device encryption that modern Android enables by default. App backups are disabled, so this data is not copied off the device.
  • Passwords for protected PDFs you open, and passwords for certificates you sign with, are held in memory only for that one action and are never written to disk.
  • Documents you protect with a password are encrypted inside the PDF itself.
  • Signature verification checks certificate chains against Certifying Authority roots built into the App โ€” no online lookup is made.
  • The App transmits no document content or file data over any network connection. Network traffic is limited to ads, Google Play, Google sign-in and, if you opt in, anonymous analytics.
โš ๏ธ

No method of data storage is 100% secure. While we protect your device-resident data, we cannot guarantee absolute security against physical device theft. Use a screen lock (PIN, pattern, fingerprint or face unlock) to protect your device.

Section 15

International Data Transfers

Because Pyrbit PDF stores all document and personal data locally on your device and does not operate a backend server, we do not transfer personal data internationally in the ordinary course of business.

The instances in which data may cross borders โ€” none of them run by us โ€” are:

  • Google Play purchases โ€” processed through Google's global infrastructure under Google's privacy practices.
  • Google AdMob, Google sign-in & Firebase Analytics โ€” processed on Google's global infrastructure under Google's Privacy Policy and its standard contractual safeguards.
  • Support email โ€” emails to himanshu0rjn@pyrbit.com travel through our email provider's infrastructure, which may span multiple countries.
Section 16

Children's Privacy

Pyrbit PDF is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 where applicable, such as in the EU under GDPR). It is not part of Google Play's Families programme. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 โ€” and, as described throughout this policy, we collect very little personal information from anyone.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through this App (for example, via the support email), please contact us at himanshu0rjn@pyrbit.com and we will promptly delete it.

Section 17

Your Rights and Choices

For All Users

RightHow to Exercise
Access your dataYour data lives on your device. The Account screen shows your profile; Settings shows all preferences.
Delete your dataSettings โ†’ Delete Account, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App.
Turn analytics on or offSettings โ†’ Share Anonymous Usage Data. Off by default; switching it off stops collection immediately.
Change ad consentIn the EEA, UK and Switzerland, reopen Google's consent form at any time from Settings โ†’ Ad privacy options.
Limit ad personalisationAndroid Settings โ†’ Privacy โ†’ Ads (or Google โ†’ Ads) โ†’ Delete advertising ID. Ads still show; they simply aren't personalised.

For EU/EEA, UK & Switzerland Residents (GDPR)

You have additional rights including data portability, restriction of processing, the right to object, and the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Contact us at himanshu0rjn@pyrbit.com. All requests are answered within 30 days.

For California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Ads shown by Google AdMob may use your advertising ID; you can delete it at any time in Android Settings as described above.

For India Residents (DPDPA 2023)

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have rights including access, correction, erasure, and grievance redressal. The Aadhaar Digital Signature feature does not collect your Aadhaar number, so there is no such identity data of yours held by us.

Section 18

Account Deletion / Data Deletion Request

โœ…

Delete your account in the App: go to Settings โ†’ Delete Account. This signs you out of Google in the App and erases your profile from the device immediately. Because there are no server-side accounts, nothing else needs to be deleted on our side.

If you can't delete your account in the App for any reason, or no longer have the App installed, email himanshu0rjn@pyrbit.com with the subject "Account deletion" and we will confirm within 30 days.

To remove other data associated with your use of Pyrbit PDF:

1

Uninstall the App โ€” or go to Android Settings โ†’ Apps โ†’ Pyrbit PDF โ†’ Storage โ†’ Clear storage. This removes all settings, drafts, profile and certificates the App stored.

2

Delete saved files you exported to Downloads or shared to other apps, with your file manager.

3

Remove the App's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/connections if you signed in.

4

Cancel any subscription in Google Play โ†’ Payments & subscriptions. Uninstalling the App does not cancel it.

5

For support emails: email himanshu0rjn@pyrbit.com with a deletion request. We will delete your email records within 30 days.

Section 19

Advertising, Subscriptions & Analytics

How the Free Tier Works

Free users get one free tool use per 24 hours, with no ad. After that, Standard tools show a short interstitial ad before they open, and Premium tools (such as Edit PDF, OCR, Compress, Merge and conversions) ask you to watch a rewarded ad โ€” or subscribe โ€” to unlock that use. If you are offline and no ad can load, tools stay usable. The free-use record is kept only on your device.

Advertising

Ads are supplied by Google AdMob. To show and measure them, AdMob uses your device's advertising ID, your IP address and basic device information. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks for your choice before ads are personalised, and you can change it later. Everywhere, you can delete or reset your advertising ID in Android Settings. We do not receive or store the advertising ID ourselves; it is handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy.

Subscriptions

Pyrbit PDF Pro is available as an auto-renewing weekly, monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase, all billed through Google Play. Pro removes every ad and unlocks every tool. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and can be managed or cancelled in Google Play โ†’ Payments & subscriptions. We never see your payment details.

Analytics

Google Firebase Analytics is switched off when you install the App and stays off unless you turn on Share Anonymous Usage Data in Settings. When on, it collects a random installation ID (not your name, email or Google account), your device model and Android version, and app events such as app opens, sessions and screens viewed โ€” never the contents of your documents, their file names, or anything you type. It is not linked to your Google sign-in.

Cookies & Browser-Based Tracking

Pyrbit PDF is a native Android app. Its document engine runs inside the App on your device and loads only the App's own built-in files; it does not load web pages, and the App deploys no cookies, web beacons, pixel tags or fingerprinting scripts.

๐Ÿ“„

Everything else the App does โ€” document processing, OCR, scanning, editing, signing, redaction and conversion โ€” never involves any ad network, analytics SDK, or online service, and none of it leaves your device.
